We at Opera NexGen cannot thank you enough for the overwhelming support we have received over the past two years.
Our mission began as a reaction–how can we continue to provide opportunities for artists during a time we were forced to isolate? This bloomed into chance to not only produce virtual performances, but expand our industry’s knowledge by sharing our platform with incredible artists through our webinar series.
In such a short time, we were able to produce two mainstage productions, two galas, ten webinars, and launch an internship program. Most importantly, we were able prove that it is indeed possible for artist to serve as entrepreneur, and create something from nothing.
What happens from here? This is something we are not entirely sure of. Opera NexGen was to be a pandemic project; and while we still face the impact of the pandemic, our industry has begun to adapt and resume with a traditional in-person format. While options of making this transition ourselves has occurred, we are brought back to our original motive–is this initiative needed or wanted outside of that? We exceeded even our own expectations, fulfilling the purpose we set to achieve.
This is not a conclusive ending, but rather a goodbye for now. We cannot express our gratitude to you enough for embracing us in the community. We only hope that our efforts will forever stand as inspiration to any artist who has a desire to challenge what our industry believes possible.
